Okay fans. It has been a long 10 months since the Swimmingpool duo (Michael Scheibenreiter of the Phoneheads and Stefan Schwander alias Antonelli electr.) presented their debut album on Combination. O-Ton Left for Tobias Thomas of the SPEX was a "dub`n`bass monster..., in which were splashing around subsonic force fields with minimal techno-house-clicking, tumbling every club into a never heard before colour." Some DJs and journalists put the track on their annual favourite list.
Soon after, the Swimmingpool followed on with the track Perhaps for the Combination Traffic! compilation. A spring theme that accompanied us during the whole summer, reducing minimal techno drum`n`bass-collision in favour of lightness. And now finally their new 12"! Another 3 tracks. Big and different. The a-side Diver begins with a rave triplet and a nearly folky percussion. Only when the bass comes in, you know a hymn is on its way. Should anyone get the idea of crossing a Theo Parrish track with Unfinished Sympathy, he cannot oversee Diver. Probably the most played club night opener this year.
Bypass is the most obvious dance track. It`s for the Dub-House-Club, where one may only enter when being able to give a plausible definition of boogie at the entrance. Deep dub loops that are seldom repeated, only tickling the theme and playing with your expectations.
Should you need any more information, we recommend to listen again, only louder this time. The Swimmingpool album is coming out this autumn. But we would wait for it until 2010, should this be required.
