Info:
It would in fact not even be too difficult to make clear to the press that the name of this act has something to do with their musical mission. We could seek the impartial opinion of a pocket dictionary, that would have us draw parallels between the sound aesthetics and other musical parameters of Telescope and the scientific declination of the technical object with the same name. But we will let it be. Because the truth is that the Berlin project of General Elektrick and Mez of Hybrid Inc. was renamed in Telescope in the last second to avoid legal problems with a British artist. Best regards at this point from us here!
A telescope is a technical devise that phonetically and written down above all can be defined as slim. We all like that and as it works with names: pronounced and read out aloud a few times, one cannot imagine to have had another name ever in the past.
The present debut ep of both gentlemen from the electronauten sphere covers a part of their repertoire that was fed with all imaginable facets of club music of the past 15 years, without ever being crossover. One rather has the feeling that with every track they settle in one of the - in the meantime - thousands of sub genres (that can always be reduced to techno, drum & bass, house and hip hop etc., should the multiple choice test only allow one answer only) and in this sub genre they are purists. Always with the strobo under their arm, seldom with the disco light. Their trax emerge from their energetic live acts, where they jockey and jam as if there`s no tomorrow. From their live exits, they distill smooth hits with between 120 and 170 bpm in the studio later. On request also with vocals, as in the sweet whatever-house-title-track "Deeper" (with Noelle Poeller on the Mic.) Every track in itself is a breach with all expectations and we are very excitedly awaiting the album.
