Douglas Greed RMXs
Apart from being a techno producer the versatile Douglas Greed has been sailing on the high and low tides of drum’n’bass as part of the Bioniccrew from Jena in East-Germany. Known in Jena as DJ Real where he is the headliner of a club night at the local Club Kassablanca, he has set the record for crossfades per minute time and again. Just another one of the many hats he wears. Now he has gathered some of his favourite drum’n’bass producers and friends around his campfire and asked them to come up with remix tracks for his Douglas Greed persona. The result is three different remixes by Marcus Intalex, Klute as well as by Miguel Ayala and Chopper a.k.a. Einzelkind.
A1 – Douglas Greed – Aenima – Einzelkind RMX
As a bunch that has gone through the thick and thin of the German drum’n’bass scene, buddies Miguel Ayala and Chopper of Frankfurt’s Precision Crew were bound to contribute to this remix project. Their project Einzelkind from the “Get Physical” camp is currently stirring up some of the bigger ripples in the pond. The two have taken a very smart approach to the job and increase pressure where pressure is due.
B1 – Douglas Greed – Frame – Marcus Intalex RMX
What could be better than getting an appreciative pat on the back from someone whose productions have been receiving quite a bit of notice for years, saying: “Your tracks are really okay, mate…”. Tears of joy begin to well, your shoulders straighten automatically and with newly acquired self-confidence you allow yourself to ask them with a breaking voice: “Would you maybe do a remix of this track?” – “Oh, you’d love to? Cool! Could you imagine yourself making a non drum’and’bass track out of it? – Really?? Wicked!!”
B2 – Douglas Greed – Balldate – Klute RMX
Another one of these musical heavyweights that Douglas Greed would own a life size poster of if Bliss Magazine ever shifted its interest to drum’n’bass. Those who are familiar with Klute might have noticed that his footing especially in the grade-bass territory is as sure as in his native field of drum’n’bass. The result is an emotional remix of Douglas Greed’s “Balldate!” typical for him.
