Christopher Just is a phenomenon, of course! During the young history of techno.
There have not been many producers like him, producers which can be equally regarded as artist and innovator, but also as a keeper of techno-history.
Just deserves this privilege because he never got tired of questioning, satirising or just taking to pieces himself or everything else bustling about inside the variegated techno-sector.
His new maxi "Popper" is his first musical cooperation with his brother Raphael Just. Their intention was to reflect their common techno-past during the early nineties. They look back over their shoulder at the time when a bass used to be called a murder- bass, bleeps were meeting clonks and techno - using simple but very intensive melodies - was feeding the illusion of the everlasting party.
With "Popper", the Justs are delivering the most insolent blueprint of the some time arriving nineties-revival and they are presenting it by their own means - which are beaming with joy. A detailed production, with a reliable sense of style, powerful and humorous "Popper" is rocking the year 2005.
The original-mix is started by the ringtone of the year, overrides the big no-no of the vinyl-stereobass and - wins! Monster!
The discotown-mix elegantly rouses memories of Punk Anderson`s great days.
