Info:
Telescope are just unpredictable. On their last maxi Mez and General Elektrick on Combination have packed a colourful mix of different styles: power break beat with drum & bass-rave, down beat-flatteries (April was very much adored in the advanced scene) and with Deeper a dry pumping pop-house piece with the vocals of the great Noelle Poeller.
Telescope want to follow this road with their new piece So Bad. Bushes and Moloko are called into mind, if it weren`t for the bad, bad bass line. Noelle in best shape! No vocal gymnastics for jazz weirdos, but classic ethereal pop singing that doesn`t kill the track, but supports is congenially. The queen of the sublime. So Bad, for the radio of a better world. For dj`s of course prepared into a long mix. In the old days better known as extended or dub-version! Exactly fit to be turned to a minimal screw by Matthias Schaffhäuser. After he published all his remixes bundled as an album, he can start all over again. Schaffhäuser himself called his version a minimal garage mix. There is no better way to define it: London meets Cologne meets Berlin!
Telescope are Mez and General Elektrick from Berlin. They both have been working on different projects during the past few years, as solo artists or on cross projects (i.e. Elektronauten, Mez-Solo...) Mez lately produced the albums of Komeit and Contriva and is now busy putting the final dots on his own new album.General Elektrick is working on his solo project defekt.biz at the moment andI can be seen with the Elektronauten in the enormous succes movie Goodbye Lenin by Wolfgang Becker.
