The Swimmingpool project brought out its first Maxi-Single - the second Combination Records Publication - and it was recorded in an extraordinary playful way, giving both producers the chance to learn how to swim in a new manner. Water as basic means of transport provides the possibility to reach every point inside this Swimmingpool and to transfer sound in a distinctively slower way to make the producers` common ground clearly audible: Dub (Room, Sound...ya know).Antonelli had numerous publications on italic rec. and A Touch Of Class rec. (as Repeat Orchestra) and is known by all adepts as a master of reduction. While he is working with minimal means to produce - by using his characteristic harmonies - an aesthetic profile inside of monotony, Scheibenreiter jumps in from the opposite side of the pool.The notorious tensions inside his Phoneheads -Tracks are more luxuriantlyarranged and full of images. With tracks like O-Ton Left, Atomizer, and Left-Version, Swimmingpool exceeded all expectations by far. Full of light- and freshness the producers are connecting their musical basis and the name of the project, while having fun on the underwater-dancefloor. Everyone taking the idea of a fusion between Drum & Bass and Minimal-Techno into serious consideration should feel ashamed. Swimmingpool are not going that far. The limits inside their own Pool are crucial and can be relocated if it is necessary (for both sides). These limits are determining the space inside of which they can move in all directions. Swimming in the open sea is left to others.
