Jacob Basker aka Jake The Rapper is back â although heâs never been gone in the first place. On the contrary: if there is anyone claiming to have played more live gigs and DJ sets than Jake in the last two years theyâd better check again. Jake has really been everywhere, and wherever he turns up he has made a name for himself: as entertainer, DJ, rapper, and singer, and what is more, as friend, buddy, and as walking contact-making machine, and he always has a yarn or two to spin. He has written both worlds of his live set out on either side of his long awaited album. With âLess Talking, More Dancingâ on the A-side of this release he presents an absolute club monster for all those who want to find out, how deep a slide control can actually be slid â minimal disco deep house crossover for the peak! Together with Alexander P.J. Geiger (aka Nass) he is riding a bass line that pushes you inevitably towards the dance floor. With âThe End of the Worldâ Jake conjures up his very own doomsday scenario. Deichkind and Jake: a cooperation that creates the kind of future hip-hop that has made his live sets so unique.
âEmbrace the Insanityâ is going into a new round and gets the fitting linernotes by Jakeâs friend and long-time companion Reimund Maria Spitzer: "The master calls. The end of the world has many positive aspects. The choir is a little bit tipsy, deep in their repetitive meditation. Thank the Gods, layers layer themselves upon layers, Iâll reveal the sense of it all to you when weâre finished here. There is something here to be understood, itâs fighting to escape my lips. Words come like playthings and toy with the tip of the tongue mischievously, circling where they have always been. Can you dance to that? Stupid question, I can see you canât stop anymore. Can you think and still sing along while you move your ass? Can you avoid it? Can you escape it? Itâs already in your knees. Itâs pulling at your feet. Itâs snuck into you, itâs mixing you up inside, dude. The words push you and the beat leaves you no choice. Enough words! In a topsy-turvy world the organs must set the pace and give you true warmth, a foot away from the abyss. You've already forgotten you are moving. You can no longer stop. And thatâs a good thing. Remember everything that youâve forgotten."
