Forever Young, oh well, what can we say? It really is a bit embarrassing mentioning it after all these (youth) movements of the last decades. Rock & Roll, revolution, love, pop and youth and gosh, don`t forget about eternity, good old eternity! Again, again, again ...! Being slick, being big! "And we chase the streets looking great!"
Alphaville wanted to be "Forever Young". And also Bob Dylan didn`t take the dialecticts too serious already once. There isn`t such a big difference between fitness mania and "Forever" Young. Mel Gibson, Jamie Lee Curtis and Elijah Wood in one of the best movies in the world en of course of all times Forever Young. We say goodbye to euphoria, go home, lay down on our sofa and revolutionize relaxed. We zap because there is a horror movie on. Have to get up early tomorrow, get the children to pre-school, make it to the hairdressers afterwards and then to our tax advisor. One has to be fit (for fun), so don`t forget about your beauty sleep!
Oh well, lets not be like that and make everything bad, because the truth is that it`s not a matter of age. It`s just a matter of switching: on/off. Quite!
The first off of our on-goings about the theme Forever Young dates from 1996 and saw the light of day in 1997, unfortunately only in two countries: the US and France. Why this was so, is beyond our knowledge, but, to be honest, we didn`t really get into it any deeper. Anyway, to be more specific, this also happened to the magnificent album "Jeans & Electronic" of the sympathetic Vienna techno dadaist Christopher Just. A reason for us at Combination to throw in another one and release the record again. Because all want to join the fun - right? - at least all forever...oh, sorry, pardonnez us!
Everything is said about Christopher Just really, so we don`t want to do that here. We wouldn`t be telling you about Neil Young if we were to re-release one of his albums either. But there is one single thing left to be told: Christopher always had the courage to be mad and this is the reason he made lots of friends throughout the world, as is the case in Düsseldorf / Duisburg, Germany. They met, discovered about 4000 things they had in common, got drunk and had a terrific idea: re-release this beautiful album, but this time for the whole world to hear. The cover was to be the original, but to give the title and the content another turbo boost, we wrapped it in a jeans bag. The jeans bag was designed and manufactured by a company that we know really good... Jeans & Electronic, what represents the youthful pioneer spirit more? This was not only known among the old gold diggers, but also among the Duesseldorf godfathers of electronic. Every time the four robots could be themselves and go unnoticed, they threw themselves into streetwear (uncertified source). And we beg of you not to believe this much later born, much less famous Duesseldorf inhabitant that ran up the charts, mocking our good old blue jeans! No, look at him on the cover of the record, our Christopher: Jeans & Electronic, fit together like hand in glove eh
